Kazakhstan has agreed to supply oil to the Rosneft plant in Germany

06/21/2023

Kazakhstan's National Oil and Gas Company KMG has concluded a deal that will become a reliable promising step of cooperation in the energy industry. As part of this transaction, KMG undertakes to supply 100 thousand tons of oil per month to the PCK Raffinerie refinery, located in the beautiful German city of Schwedt, in which the share is 54.17%, owned by the «daughter» of one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world — Rosneft — Rosneft Deutschland. The news about this significant event was spread by the press service of KMG. Such transactions significantly contribute to the development of international relations and the strengthening of economic ties between different countries.

In connection with the latest news from the Kazakh National Oil Refining Company, the head of KMG — Magzum Mirzagaliyev — said that the company is ready to continue and increase oil supplies to Germany. The oil will be extracted from the unique Karachaganak field, located in the beautiful landscapes of the north-western part of Kazakhstan, close to the border of Russia. The oil supply will be carried out through Russia, and then transported via the Druzhba highway of Transneft. The expansion of international cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany in the field of energy opens up new horizons for the further development of relations between companies, and this can benefit both sides.

Kazakhstan National Oil Refining Company (KMG) has announced planned deliveries of at least 890 thousand tons of oil to Germany by 2023. Against the background of this news, the German side expressed deep interest in increasing the volume of supplies of Kazakh oil, including from other equally large Kazakh oil producing companies, the press service of KMG reports. Such cooperative relations will allow Kazakhstan to strengthen its position in international economic relations, expanding the sphere of influence in the oil and gas market. On the other hand, it opens up new opportunities for Germany to ensure its own commercial stability and energy security. Let's hope that this promising deal will bear fruit in full measure for all parties.

In 2022, the German government turned to KMG with a request for the supply of oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline to the PCK refinery. During the period February—May 2023, 190 thousand tons of oil have already been sent to Germany, and plans for June include an additional supply of 100 thousand tons.
In December 2022, Transneft received an application from KazTransOil for a reserve of additional capacities of the Druzhba oil pipeline for transit to Germany — 1.2 million tons for 2023. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak confirmed that Russia is ready to approve Kazakhstan's application for oil transportation through Russian territories. In January 2023, Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov said that Kazakhstan plans to supply 1.5 million tons of oil to Germany this year, and the volume could potentially increase to 7 million tons per year.
This successful transaction will be an important step for the development of economic relations between Kazakhstan and Germany in the oil and gas sector, which contributes to expanding the potential for production growth and increasing competitiveness in global energy markets.
