Sopka Kholodilnik (height 257.9, formerly Muravyov-Amursky Mountain) is the highest point within the city limits of Vladivostok.
The height above sea level is 257 meters, geographical coordinates: 43°08′43″ N. w. 131°56′24″ E. d.HGYAO.
The hill received its current name from the fortress casematized meat refrigerator located at its foot, which was built from 1911 to 1914; Before its construction, it bore the name of N. N. Muravyov-Amursky.
On Mount Kholodilnik there are defensive fortifications: the Count Muravyov-Amursky fort of the Vladivostok fortress, five letter fortress batteries, as well as the Soviet battery No. 198 “Kholodilnik” with four 130-mm B-13-3s guns. Currently, some of the fortifications are abandoned, others are located on the territory of a military unit.
Geologically, the Vladivostok hills belong to the southern Sikhote-Alin.
On the mountain there are tracks used for the Far East Open Downhill and Cross-Country Championships. The mountain is also used by paragliders. Sopka Kholodilnik is a popular place visited by city residents: from the top there are picturesque views of part of the Vladivostok development and the Amur Bay. There are entrances from Vyselkova, Dneprovskaya, Kamskaya streets.
There are also two telecommunications towers installed on the mountain: one for cellular communications, the second for radio broadcasting (Avtoradio, FM 88.3 MHz).
Two towers are owned and operated by mobile phone operators. The equipment of third-party operators on these antenna-mast structures is located on the basis of an AWS lease agreement.
