The macropod belongs to the Labyrinth family, since they, like gourami or cockerels, have another respiratory organ - a labyrinth. In fact, this is a collection of channels saturated with blood vessels. The trapped oxygen bubble enters the labyrinth, and thus saturates the body with air.
