Geology of the Leninogorsk and Zyryanovsk ore fields. K. Satpaev. 1957

The question of the genesis of the Altai polymetallic deposits is complex and controversial. Despite the presence of a large number of discussion articles, there is little published literature containing factual material on ore deposits. This paper presents new data obtained over the past 15 years of a detailed study of ore deposits in Altai. The collection contains articles relating to the two most important ore fields - Leninogorsk and Zyryanovsk and was written by researchers working in the system of the Academy of Sciences of Kaz. SSR (Institute of Geological Sciences, Altai Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy). It summarizes the results of the work of teams of scientists of the system of the Academy of Sciences of Kaz. SSR, who conducted their research with the participation of geologists from the production organizations of the trust "Altaitsvetmetrazvedka" and other enterprises of Altai. Geological research was carried out continuously from 1948 to 1954 inclusive, and exploration work continues. During this period, all the accumulated factual material was revised, which was supplemented with the latest data obtained already in the process of special studies of recent years. The presentation of the articles is built according to a single plan, according to which, after presenting the factual material, its generalization is given in the chapters on ore formation and the genesis of mineralization. Such an order of presentation, it seems to us, makes it possible to identify prospecting and prognostic signs and evaluation criteria that can be transferred to similar neighboring deposits. In conclusion, in each article or for each field, some practical suggestions are given that directly follow from the collected factual material.
