Yesterday evening, a tragic accident occurred in the Karaganda region, in which five people were killed, the nur correspondent reports.kz with reference to the police. Videos from the scene were posted on the dorogi_karagandy Instagram account. The incident occurred on June 8 at 22:23 on the 931st kilometer of the Kyzylorda-Pavlodar highway, as a result of a collision of three cars: Audi, Chevrolet Cobalt and Toyota Previa, according to the Karaganda region Police Department. In the final crash, four passengers and the 22-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt died on the spot. The driver of the Audi (21 years old), his 17-year-old passenger and the 39-year-old Toyota passenger were taken to hospital. The police department also reported that a criminal case has been opened on the fact of the accident, and the necessary examinations have been appointed. Recall that on the eve it became known about an accident in the Mangystau region, where two schoolchildren were killed, and two more children were hospitalized. Additionally, we inform you that according to Article 345 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, various penalties are provided for violation of driving rules or operation of vehicles that led to serious harm to health or death of a person. In particular, if the victim received an average severity of damage to health, the guilty person can be fined up to 160 MCI, or subjected to correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to 160 hours, or arrested for up to 40 days with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or activities for up to 2 years. In the case of serious harm to health, the penalty may include a fine of up to 2000 MCI, or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service of up to 600 hours, or restriction of freedom for up to 2 years, or imprisonment for the same period with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or activities for 3 years. In the event of the death of one person, the penalty may include imprisonment for up to 5 years with deprivation of the right to certain positions or activities for the same period. If two or more people were killed, the penalty is imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold positions or activities for a term of up to 7 years.

In connection with the tragedy that occurred in the Karaganda region, law enforcement agencies continue to work to clarify all the circumstances of the accident. Experts conduct expert inspections of the accident site, as well as assess the technical condition of vehicles and analyze possible causes of the incident. Witnesses to the incident and drivers involved in the accident give evidence that will be used to establish the final picture of what happened.

Currently, the main version of the police is a possible violation of traffic rules either by the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt, or by one of the other participants in the accident. The option of an unforeseen technical malfunction of one of the vehicles is also considered. Based on the results of the examinations, conclusions will be drawn, on the basis of which further measures will be taken.

In addition, officials urge drivers to be careful and strictly comply with traffic rules, especially in conditions of increased danger on the roads, such as at night or bad weather conditions. This tragic event highlights the importance of careful behavior on the road and responsibility for the lives of people both in and out of the car.

At the same time, relatives of the victims are provided with psychological and material assistance. Local authorities express their condolences to the families of the victims and assure that all those responsible will be brought to justice in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
