A food supplement for special medical purposes. Chela-Ferr® MED is intended for use in a diet with the doctor's recommendations for use in conditions:
- impaired or decreased absorption of iron (which also occurs in celiac disease, chronic pancreatitis),
- iron deficiency anemia (anemia),
- iron deficiency due to pregnancy, heavy menstrual bleeding, blood donation, blood loss as a result of surgery, chemotherapy, as well as improper nutrition (including the use of unbalanced vegetarian diets, including a macrobiotic diet or weight loss diets, etc.),
- chronic cough associated with iron deficiency conditions (Int J Clin Pract. 2012 Nov; 66(11):1095-100),
- cough associated with the use of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (eg, captopril, enalapril, lisonopril) (Hypertension. 2001 Aug; 38(2):166-70),
- restless legs syndrome (RLS),
- attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) (Pediatr Neurol. 2008 Jan; 38(l):20-6),
- the drug can also be used to prevent iron deficiency (e.g. during pregnancy, heavy menstrual bleeding, blood donation, chemotherapy and in the perioperative period).
