Werner's Aplohelius is a typical representative of Asian spawning tooth carps. All species of fish belonging to this genus have an elongated body, shaped like the body of an ordinary pike (Esox lucius). Due to this external similarity in everyday life, lineatuses were called "pikes". The similarity of lineatuses with this predator is not limited only to appearance, common features can also be seen in their behavior. Many novice aquarists, having heard the name “pike”, believe that they have a predator capable of exterminating all the fish in the aquarium in a short time, but in reality this is not the case.
