A movie camera with an electric drive for shooting on 8 mm Super-8 film. The name “XL” indicates the presence of a high-aperture optical system with a large range of changes in the relative lens apertures; which, together with the large opening angle of the shutter (220°), allows filming in a wide range of illumination. The camera used an automatic exposure control system with light measurement through the lens. And the plant itself is the last serial manufacturer of 8 mm film equipment in the world. For some time, it was still planned to modernize the camera in terms of switching to electronic stabilization of the film transport speed; lens changes were expected... However, by the end of the 1980s, the market for amateur film cameras completely ceased to exist. Video technology has finally replaced film equipment from mass use in developed countries of the world; namely for export; mostly; and this equipment was produced - amateur filming in the USSR was not very popular due to its relatively high cost and underdeveloped service.
