Marble, granite, travertine

Marble is a rock that got its name from the Greek word "marmaros" (in translation - brilliant, shining). It is a durable and at the same time easy-to-work material, suitable both for creating exquisite sculptures and for the construction of colossal architectural complexes. The ancient Greek Parthenon was almost entirely built of marble, the interior of St. Paul's Basilica in Rome is finished with marble, the royal palaces in St. Petersburg abound with marble sculptural elements. Today marble is one of the most popular finishing materials in design and architecture.
