For fans of high-quality sound. 5.1 home theater imported from the USA. (made in Mexico) Acoustic system Infinity Beta 40/20/10 paired with an AV Receiver: Harman/kardon AVR 130 Since this is one concern, the Receiver and speakers play perfectly together. Possibility of powering up to 100 W; with this receiver 45W. BETA 40 from the Californian company Infinity stands out in its appearance. It's not just the high-quality cherry vinyl finish that's eye-catching. The beveled front panel carries branded speakers; created using C.M.M.D technology. (Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragms). The cones of these speakers are made of aluminum; which through chemical treatment is brought to form ceramics on them. This allows you to get a natural, live sound and greatly reduce distortion. This technology was originally developed for the top-of-the-line Prelude MTS; now they are also used in less expensive speaker systems. The 25mm tweeter is located in the center of the proprietary CAI (Constant Acoustic Impedance) acoustic horn; improving its radiation pattern. Along with the tweeter, a 130 mm midrange driver is also located on the same “platform”. Just below are two solid low-frequency drivers; which operate in a separate volume in tandem with a bass reflex port. The speakers are protected by a metal fine-mesh mesh; giving the speakers a very original look. The speakers are set at the height of the rubber feet from the floor. Terminals - gold-plated screw; with bi-wiring support. Sound. We have noticed more than once; that the products of some companies are characterized by complexes of characteristic features; signature sound features. The loudspeakers of the American brand Infinity illustrate this observation very convincingly. The sound of BETA 40 is somehow sparkling; solar; festive; their musical temperament is invariably agile; sanguine. Even playing the music of the requiem; mass or minor blues, the model manages to highlight and emphasize the bright ones; optimistic sides of musical characters; and what can we say about other classical and popular genres. The speakers depict the elements of the musical picture quite clearly; somehow especially free; easily; smooth and shiny. A slight lightening of color is inherent primarily in the middle and upper parts of the spectrum. The dynamic data of the model is excellent. The BETA 40 bass is tight; fast; not very deep. Compared to the very clear mids and highs, it is slightly less tonally accurate; however, the slight coloring that sometimes appears here is not perceived as clouding the image and does not lead to a change in the overall balance and color of the sound. The columns form a large one; spacious music stage; position its leading edge quite close to the listener. Harman/Kardon technology is recognizable like no other; and the appearance of all components without exception directly provokes joint use; unlike products from other companies. This is fully facilitated by the design of the front panel; which can be visually divided into two parts. At the top there is a large matrix display (which displays maximum useful information) and a very impressive volume knob. At the bottom (silver) there is a row of control buttons; as well as several AV inputs. This receiver has only five channels of amplification. However, experience suggests; that often the greater is the enemy of the good; After all, passport numbers do not always indicate quality. Although a six-channel surround sound processor is used here (the same as in the Sherwood receiver - Crystal CS493263-CL); which means; the additional channel was deliberately abandoned. Interestingly, the AVR130 implements an amplification circuit. On the cooling radiator; which; by the way; not made from a cast piece of aluminum; and from a thin “figuratively” curved sheet (which made it possible to significantly increase the total surface area); Composite Darlington transistors from Sanken (2SD2390) are featured. The functional equipment of the receiver cannot be called meager. So; For example; the front panel has both types of digital audio inputs (optical and coaxial); and at the back there are two sockets for connecting other components; which none of the test participants offers. Listening impressions First impression after switching on; that the manufacturer incorrectly indicated the receiver's output power. But; as often happens; indicators are not overestimated; but vice versa; seemed understated by ear; which is played by a much more powerful device. The sound of the Harman/Kardon AVR130 can be described as “pushy” and “explosive”. The device has very good dynamics: even in very difficult scenes; where much more powerful receivers often pass; This device worked with flying colors. However, the rather “hard” nature of the sound adds a fly in the ointment; Not everyone may like this. The situation can be corrected by careful selection of acoustic systems; but still the AVR130 seems to “impose” its “opinion” on the speakers. It is also worth noting the audible distortion at high volume levels and the “average” performance of the surround sound processor: at some points, some of the audio information seemed simply “swallowed” by the receiver.
